Hello Again!

This probably hasn’t been the longest stretch between posts, but it sure feels like it’s been a long, long time. We’ve moved into our house and almost have everything unpacked and put away. Every day it feels more and more like home, and I’ll look out our bedroom window and I can’t believe I’m living in the house I’ve wanted for twenty years. I don’t see us becoming millionaires any time soon (if at all!), so this house will be a long-term project. It needs fixing up, three major projects but a handful of medium-sized projects. There’s the sagging roof, a whole bathroom (it was listed as two bathrooms, but the second bathroom is just an empty space waiting for one to be put in), and, now, a new well might need to be dug. I can’t wait for summer though! I think we’ll be planting a garden and getting some chickens–and hopefully ducks! –but most importantly, our son will be older. I’m eager to walk through our forest with him, play in the creek with him, and watch him interact with the dogs. A couple weeks ago I bundled him up and took him outside with me to exercise the dogs quick. Bandit gets so excited/impatient that he tosses around the toy, trying to get it closer to your hand. Our son suddenly burst out laughing! I hadn’t even known he was watching the dogs play. He is going to love them.

I also can’t wait to have family gatherings/parties. We have plenty of outdoor space now and a nice deck.

With the majority of my unpacking work done, I want to catch up on my other stuff: filling in the baby book, trying to get everything down in my journal. And I want to write when possible, though that’ll be slightly more difficult. If I give the baby to my husband and he starts crying, and I’m sitting in my corner, my husband usually brings him to me. I can only get away writing for so long, haha.

I do want to show off my new summer writing space! I’m excited to use it the second I can.
