So the woman who was after my position at my old job has, as I heard, stepped down. The reason I wouldn’t know but it’s possibly because she didn’t want to do one aspect of the job, overseeing cashiers and cashing herself if necessary–why she thought she wouldn’t have to perform this aspect of the job when it’s required, I don’t know. If it was because of the stress all I’d have to tell her is that “Yes, it is stressful. Now try balancing that stress with having two people stirring up trouble behind your back.” But the point is, the backroom is looking like it might be in rough shape. I don’t know if it’s because I helped set the store up or because I put so much effort into organizing and maintaining the backroom, but I talked to the manager standing in (who I’ve worked for and found to be a very good manager) for the current one while he’s out, and if he’s going to remain manager for a while longer, I’m considering going back part-time.
But in the meantime, I sort of got roped into this insurance job by one of my sisters. When the guy was telling me about it, it seemed straightforward enough and of course he was sure to mention more than once the amount of money that could be made. Not having a job I figured I might as well give it a try, although I’m not entirely sure about it. Unless I can do it well, like I know some of their people do, it’s almost like working for free since pay only comes from sales.
I mentioned marketing one day while talking to my boyfriend and his friend and he hoped right onto Fiverr to find someone who could help with this. I think it’s been two, three weeks since she finished. Doesn’t seem like it made much of a difference. Publishing can be such a money pit–it’s a wonder there’s so many books on the market. Maybe most authors are like me and don’t write to get a spot on the bestseller list but write because they enjoy it.
With all my free time I’ve decided to make a model of Pandorma. I was in Hobby Lobby and walked down the aisle with diorama supplies and thought it would be a fun project to take up. I could map out Ryan and Lissa’s trail and more. I’ll add pictures either to here or Twitter.
