I’m always surprised when I see I’ve sold a book or a view on my website. I always feel buried under everyone else, not just with my book but in general. But the small things like that definitely brighten my day, especially when I’m having one of those days, like today, and just feel glum. Nothing a puzzle or writing won’t fix, although I’m still trying to find my way back to my own writing.
I did go see the new Jurassic World when it came out. I had to lower my expectations and see it again before I could enjoy it. I’m a huge fan of the Jurassic movies and it still boggles me how the same incredible people who were in charge of the previous movies also worked on this one. I must be missing something but, some dinosaurs were living in snowy areas…? There seemed to be an unusual explosion of dinosaurs as well. I know the dinosaurs were engineered, and I won’t lay out my whole thought process because it might get jumbled, but could that many have come about in a handful of years? It was really nice to see the original Jurassic Park characters and, no matter how cute Chris Pratt is and how amazing Blue is, they’ll always be my favorite. My mom loved the movie because it was more ‘edge of your seat’ with all the dinosaurs attacking. So! I will still buy it when it comes out because it’s a good movie to just watch and I can’t not have the complete collection.
I keep getting told I need to get out more–of course this is always by the people who already have a significant other. I’m not even sure where I’m supposed to get out to. I don’t mind being alone, but I don’t like doing things on my own, not as fun. Plus, I don’t usually have time. Once I get home from work I try to write for an hour at least before I have to go exercise my dog, then eat dinner and relax before going to bed. Anyway, I thought I’d try to break out of my shell more by taking a short trip on my vacation week coming up. It might help with writing too.
I still have to get a new computer. Although, with a broken tv and an oven the doesn’t work properly, we seem to be moving backwards in time. I might be better off getting a typewriter. (Which might be a little dramatic, but I actually do want one.)
